We Have Fans?!
Informational Note: Eta and Ycks both had players who were away from the table today, so they have limited representation. During this session Baltar’s player also chose to transition to a new character: Lanaris Moondancer. Also due to circumstances of a series of real life nat ones by the DM this was a shortened session.
Returning to our regularly scheduled adventures:
We resumed with Fianna off to purchase some art supplies from Ambergris, the gnomish proprietor of Mielikki’s Dream- an art supply store. Gathering up everything she needs to continue her water color painting that she does in her downtime and showing off one of her recent works, Fianna spends time catching up with Ambergris and then heads out to meet up with the party at the Market.
Meanwhile back at The Bridge Inn Ycks, Jericho, and Silbiiah are waiting in the dining room for Baltar to come down so that they can head off to the docks to search for Sunny. After waiting for more than fifteen minutes, Ycks went over to the check in counter in the lobby and inquired of the girl at the desk what Baltar’s room number is so she can go knock. Jumping back to a wakeful posture, the girl remembers that she’s taken a note and hands it to Ycks saying, “Oh he’s checked out. He said to give you this.” Ycks opens a folded note apparently scribbled by the clerk that says: “Going to look for Red, after I find me some chicken…I’m hungry…” Taking the note she heads back over to the table and shows it to Jeri and Silbiiah. Silbiiah is confused about who Red is or why Baltar would have left to go looking for them, but it seems the three of them are on their own.
Ycks decided that she would like to go on her own and search the docks for her ship and Sunny, if the other two didn’t mind. So away she went, leaving Silbiiah and Jeri to decide what to do on their own.
Jeri and Silbiiah decide to get a jump on scouting the Palace grounds for the potential heist, so they headed off towards that. Silbiiah, crossing the invisible bridge for the second time, found that she could freely cross it now, though her first tentative steps while clutching a blindfold, highly amused Jericho. As they walked through the city they compared notes on how they were raised and why they both spoke Dwarvish. Neither of them noticed the being that was tailing them. Jericho talked about how her parents had taught her some dragonborn traditions when she was younger before they joined the tribe. She tells Silbiiah how her parents both have hoarding tendencies and she herself is a hoarder of people or relationships with people.
Arriving at the gates to the Palace, where the gardens are open to the public during the day, a guard approached and asked them to peace bond their weapons, providing each with a silver ribbon for them to tie on their weapons to show their visual agreement to cause no harm in the garden. The two dragonborn arena fighters entered into the garden with Jeri providing Silbiiah with a running commentary of all the plants and flowers while the kept an eye out for any useful information. While gathering that guard patrols seem to flow through the garden at a quick pace every thirty minutes and they don’t seem to go into the buildings, they turn a corner to find a young elven girl excitedly waiting for them. Wide violet eyes, stare excitedly up at the two of them while the little girl’s copper hair glints in the sunlight- the little girl excitedly squeals: “Jericho, you’re a champion of the arena. You’re the reason they’re letting girls fight now and Si…Sil…Si” Silbiiah provided her name pronunciation to help the poor girl. “Silbiiah, you won last night! I’m so excited, I want to be like you. My dad says that girls shouldn’t fight, but I’m going to learn.” Crouching down to be on eye level Jeri asks and finds out that the little girl’s name is Violet and she has a dagger she’s stolen from her father’s study that she’s going to have the guards teach her how to use. After talking for a minute a male voice calls out for Violet and she darts away emerging at a different part of the garden as Jeri and Silbiiah spot a tall, black haired elven man calling for the girl.
Leaving the garden the pair of dragonborn make their way back to the Market to meet back up with everyone else, discussing the fact that they have a fan the whole way. The party reunites at the fountain in the market where Ycks and Silbiiah share the information about Baltar going to find Red. No one is sure who Red is or where Baltar might have gone. They decide to wait a bit to see if he shows up and begin to talk of what they’ve learned.
While they are having this conversation, a cobalt skinned, white haired, silver eyed elven man is standing on the side of the street across from them, clutching a scroll and a quill staring at Jericho and Silbiiah. Feeling that they were watched the party stopped talking and addressed the man. He crossed excitedly to them expressing that he is a fan of Jericho and Silbiiah and Baltar. He asks for Jeri and Silbiiah’s autographs. Jerri gives hers, but Silbiiah is reticent. The man introduces himself as Lunaris Moondancer. He works at The Vault of Sages, but doesn’t get out much. In fact he’d seen Eta and Mott there earlier in the day. He speaks to them about Baltar and his history of fighting and there is mention of a fighter named Red in the same troupe as Baltar.
After all this discussion, Lunaris says he knows the party is working on a job and he may be able to help them. Realizing that they’re still in a very public place and needing to have a more private discussion, Jeri suggests they take this conversation into a nearby tavern, The Wall. Fianna agrees that heading to Helmer’s Wall to plan is probably the best plan. So the party begins to make their way to the tavern to plan.
What plan will they come up with… We shall have to wait and see…
