Dividing the Loot
Informational Note: Jericho’s player was away from the table this week.
Returning to our adventurers as they approach The Wall:
Moondancer being the first of the party to reach Helmer’s Wall, found the tavern packed to the brim with students who wanted to party and the line was out the door. He stepped into an alley and waited for other members of the company to appear. Eta and Fianna were the next to make their approach and Moondancer waved them over to him telling them it didn’t look like they would be able to get into the Wall tonight and what should they do? Eta however decided that she wanted to party so she went over and got into the line to go into the tavern. When Mott, Silbiiah, Jericho, and Ycks arrive to find Eta in line and Fianna and Moondancer waiting to see what they should do next. Deciding they should go somewhere they can better have a conversation, they decide to head back to The Bridge Inn.
Once inside the inn, the party head for the dining room to discuss next steps. Ycks, deciding they’d had enough for the evening decided to add some more art to a carving on the underside of the table they were at, as there was already a lovely carving there, while the rest of the party talked. Mott said they need to send a message to Anitcka immediately to let her know they need to meet. Silbiiah offers to take her horse (which she has cast through her new ability to Find Steed) and head over to Sorlar’s. Mott scribbles the message “The bird had flown.” onto a bit of paper and Silbiiah heads out to deliver it.
Deciding that it’s quite late and they should rest before further steps were taken, Jericho headed back to The Lark and Moondancer headed back to The Vault, while the others retreated to their room to rest.
In the morning the party gathered back in the dining room sans Jericho, who was apparently still resting at The Lark, and grabbed some breakfast while they waited for Moondancer to arrive. However it was Lunaris who arrives to join them, asking them what the plan is for the heist. After some confusion among the party it seems to be established that Lunaris and Moondancer seem to be two personalities that occupy the same body and neither seems fond of the other. After much discussion it is discovered that Lunaris has a pouch of coins on him that must be from the heist because he has no idea where it came from. Lunaris pours the coin out onto the table so that Mott can collect it to distribute among the party.
Mott had no more than swept the coins into his bag as that much money was most definitely conspicuously, when a guard and a messenger from The Vault of Sages appeared in the dining room door way and make their way towards the party. The messenger from the library hands an envelope to Mott from Professor Liadon. The guard hands Lunaris a court summons for trespassing at the Palace informing him of a court date and a fine to be paid or jail time to be served. After both the guard and messenger leave, the party immediately begins discussing Lunaris’ summons and what is to be done about the 500g fine. Lunaris keeps trying to say it was part of the plan and the party should pay his expenses while Mott kept insisting that his approaching the apartment was not part of the plan and it is not the Company’s fault. After several minutes of this and what looked like it might devolve into an actual fight, with other members of the Company speaking up, Mott tossed a bag of coin on the table and said that would cover Lunaris’ expenses and he was going to his room.
Mott went up to his room to review his letter from the librarian and to divvy up the money. After making small coin bundles for each party member and a good read of his letter, he headed back down to distribute the funds and rejoin the party. Eta shares the letter she received from Professor Liadon with Mott to see what he makes of it. Mott takes it and tucks it away to review more thoroughly later. During this discussion another messenger approaches the party delivering a scroll to Mott telling him Anticka would meet him this evening at Sorlar’s.
Mott’s first thought was that they should head straight to Sorlar’s and wait to see what they see, but they arrived before it opened. Waiting for it to open, the party finally decides maybe they should get a few other things done.
Deciding to run some errands, the party headed back across the city to the artisan district for Mott to pick up the sheath he commissioned for his scissors and to see about visiting a jeweler and the magic item shop. The scissors didn’t share any opinion on the sheath but Mott felt it was quite nice. At the jeweler, Silbiiah made a down payment on some platinum rings so that she can use a new spell she picked up. The jeweler lets her know that she can pay the remainder of the balance and pick up the rings the next day about mid morning. Heading over to The Shining Scroll to see about magic items, the party decides that what is currently available is mostly outside their current range with the exception of some health potions.
Exiting the shop, Fianna brings up the fact that they no longer have rooms reserved at The Bridge, because the stay they paid for is up so they will need to figure that out. But first the party decided to pursue another job they had pulled off the job board.
They had grabbed a job off the board to just go pick up some free stuff at a house on Long Tree Court. So they headed over there to check it out. They were greeted at the door by a fiery haired halfling woman who pointed them towards their brother’s room and told them they could have whatever they found in there. Her brother Pedro had taken off and just left some stuff behind and she wanted it gone. So the party went in to see what they could find. Ycks found a map, while there was a longsword and set of chainmail in a crate by the bed. Lunaris found a rapier under a floor board beneath the bed. The party stood there trying to figure out if there was anything else in the room worth taking, what is this a map of, and what should they do next.
So there we leave them trying to figure out next steps in the halfling house of Lolita Rosebloom…
